Balfour Beatty

A first for the construction industry, we helped Balfour Beatty lead the way with the next generation of BIM (Building Information Modelling) technology, designed to enhance the customer experience and improve business efficiency.

This was presented within a 360° immersive visualisation Integration Suite through our 4.5 metre Apollo Wall. The 1,920 x 1,200-pixel resolution allows for large scale stereo-3D and photorealistic visualisation.

The Suite lets people virtually enter and explore a building or site plan, moving between spaces and reviewing them at different points in the proposed build cycle. This is being utilised as a centre for analysis and testing, essential for addressing how buildings will function, acting as a full-scale model. Alongside this, the multifunctional space is being used as a presentation and training suite internally.

This enhances the customer experience by showing them exactly how a building or system will look, feel, and function. We have already seen an increase in engagement with customers asking more questions and enhancing the decision-making process. This also helps to overcome technical jargon that can confuse and reduce overall effectiveness within the build process.
